The magic and drama of the awe-inspiring Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak returns to Kings Park to celebrate the regrowth and renewal of Kambarang season in spectacular style.
Take an immersive after-dark walk through a tunnel of wonder along Fraser Avenue and into the park as stories of caring for Country come to spectacular life in this landmark melding of culture, science, cutting-edge technology and breathtaking artistry. Through spectacular high-tech light projections, animation, sound, and song, discover stories of regrowth and new life as fire flickers, rain descends, plants emerge and bloom, and giant birds and animals roam all around and up above in the majestic treetops.

- The route is approximately 1.4km, plus a further 1.5km along the exit route to return to Kings Park Road.
- We recommend allowing 45 minutes from start to finish, plus 25 minutes to walk to the exit. Pack light and wear comfortable shoes.
- This is a family friendly event and can be experienced by all ages. Please be advised that there will be loud noises and sound effects during some parts of the journey.
- No dogs are not allowed into the event, with the exception of Guide Dogs.
- No parking in Kings Park

Fri 4 – Mon 7 Oct – EVENT DAYS
5.30pm – 1am
Fraser Ave, Wadjuk Way, Lovekin Drive, Forrest Drive, Saw Ave, Poole Ave (after Park Ave) and May Drive and all internal Kings Park car parks and parking bays.
Fraser’s Restaurant patrons can access Wadjuk Carpark via the control point at Saw Ave/May Drive.
Cyclists can utilise the bike racks near the entry of Fraser Ave, close to Kings Park Rd.
6.30pm – 1am
- Kings Park Rd from Colin St to Malcom St
- Malcolm St from Kings Park Rd to St Georges Tce
- West-bound lane of St Georges Tce from Milligan St to Malcom St
- Harvest Tce from Malcom St to Parliament Pl
- Havelock St from Ord St to Kings Park Rd
- South-bound lane of Havelock St from Hay St to Ord St
Local residents of Cliff St, Mount St and Bellevue Tce will be permitted through a controlled check point at St Georges Tce, entry via Mount St or Elder St only.
Tuesday 8 October – POST EVENT
6.30pm – 12am
Fraser Ave, Wadjuk Way and some internal roads and car parks in Kings Park.
Access to Wadjuk Car Park is available via Saw Ave/May Drive.
Please note cars parked within any of the road closures will be towed.
Accessibility
The event route will include paving, grass, compact dirt, and sloped and uneven surfaces. 40% of the event route is grass, 80% of the event has alternative paved pathways. There will be a limited number of wheelchairs available to borrow from the Information Point located at the beginning of Fraser Ave. These will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. ACROD parking bays will be available at Dumas House, across Kings Park Road for patrons with a valid ACROD parking pass.
Accessible toilets will be available at points throughout the park - please refer to the Event Map for toilet locations.
At the end of the event an assistance bus will depart from the corner of Forrest Dve and Lovekin Dve every 30 minutes to take patrons who require assistance back to the start of the event.
Audio Described tours will be available on Monday 7 October. Please get in contact to book this service and reserve your headset in advance of attending. Details of where to collect your headset will be provided upon booking confirmation.
